I like to write, I write articles for our little local Plunket Newsletter. I write anonymously to protect my children. No body wants to know that they have a slightly deranged Mother. A number of people read the article and realised it was me who wrote them and they have suggested I write a blog – so here I am.
I am worried that I could be boring, mundane or worse still depressing. As a blog writer I want to be funny and clever and fabulous. I guess as a writer I can be because you the reader doesn’t know the real me.
So to be fabulous I am making some changes in my life.
The first step is new shoes, a friend of mine is importing and selling Fleuvog shoes, so I have bought 2 x pairs from her. The newest pair are red and pink and they are fantastic.
My friend calls herself the director of gorgeoness. My husband looked at her newly created business card and in a very male way pointed out the gorgeoness is not a real word – it has been misspelt – sigh.
Anyway the misspelling detracted from my personal mission of being fabulous and tottally left my new shoe “high” falling flat and deflated – all because my friend’s business card had a spelling mistake.
But this morning, I was all dressed and ready for work and my darling Ella who is almost 9, said “Mummy your shoes are cool”. whew that shoe high is coming back! She then asked if she could have a pair, I muttered something about not having them in her size and walked away. If I was to buy her a pair of all my fabulous shoes I would personally bankrupt my family. She can have some sensible but nice shoes from Bay shoes.
The first pair of shoes I bought off my friend are an orangy brown coulour and they are also stunning. I was so excited to buy them, I walked around the office and showed everyone. They were unimpressed and did not appreciate them, I told them that they were great shoes – they still didn’t care. That is one of the perils of working in an all male environment – more on that later.
So anyway with 2 x new pairs of shoes and the spring weather and a new job, I am well on my way to being fabulous.
I now need to e-mail my friend and tell her about the spelling mistake on her business card.
My darling wife, I am sorry that I deflated your shoe high last night but I’m pleased that Ella bought you back up to fabulousness again.
I hope to see your groovy shoes on our Friday Date Night.
Me.
